Synopsis

Synopsis for redrum 3x.com trailer created by John Varghese.
Young girl who enters the redrum website soon discovers that she will die in 48 hours and her teacher becomes the last person to get a email before her death. He uncovers that the website is deadly and fatal after he discovers the password to get in and here begins hallucinations and paranoia begin to set in and he realises will he die or is he imagining the horror that might be in his head.
Images of blood cemetery and being chased are used in this trailer to create a sense of horror.

Having created my story board I needed someone to help me to get the shots so I asked my nephew Trueman Joseph to help with the filming. Having taught him how to use the tripod and camera and practise some test shots we went about filming various scenes from the story board.
There was many different challenges during filming which included children and technical issues like battery running out, not enough lighting, and we over come this with different solutions.

Having shot different scenes I decided to add in more sequences to film because I felt that having the main character as myself meant that it look like I did not have enough varienty of shots to make the traler more appealing. So I added few more sequences to film which included a last minute dash to the cemetery to film the sequence for the chase and the scences near the grave yard. While editing the footage it helped me to sort out the bad or useless scenes and I have to overcome the hurdles of running out of space so I deleted footage of the useless scenes I had various issues which included the video need to be converted to a different format and then to edit on premier pro , I had to learn about some of the new functions by practising on small scenes, I was able to create new special effects.

Narrative story
My horror trailer has 3 main acts as to pick from of many Hollywood horror films there is a crisis point at the end of act1 and act 2 and then a happy resolution n or is there (challenge convention or subvert conventionsfor the end of the films.
My narrative does not conform to the structure. But it has been used in fairy tales and myths. I subverted the teenager at risk by placing them in a college then I challenged the convention by having the hero as the lead character only to be killed off at the end. This impact for the audience may be one of fear and real questions as to which character will be killed.
Student Sophie finds by entering the website the narrative starts a sequence of events and actions and starts the patter n of events taking place before their timely demise by John’s character doing things this then engages the audience with my character and the narrative becomes more emotive .

This will lead to a successful horror trailer. Having looked at time and use of scenes with flash back summary and stretch and discourse scenes longer than the story time with slow motion sequences.
